Sarah goes out with her mate stella...

I was imagining my new job to be a tad like The Devil Wears Prada...I was sure it wouldn't be and the lady that interviewed me was lovely however I couldn't help but feel like im not shiney/skinny/stylish enough.

So this may shock those of you that know me and know that I left my full-time paid job to do an expenses only internship however after two days I quit. Yes that's right QUIT. Some may see this as a failure but im seeing it as an indication of what I don't want to do.

I no longer wish to work in the office environment nor the floor of a dark room named "wardrobe". I do not wish to work in isolation...I am a people person and so the job search begins.

On a lighter note... I watched a film named office space last night, it made me laugh but I also related to it. I no longer wish to sell my soul doing a 9-5 that I hate I really hope there's a job out there that keeps me interested and interesting.

p.s I do however admire interns, I have a new respect for you

Who,What,Wear (is your hair?)

I love street style but I find it really pointless when people tell you what design power house made their coat/skirt/shirt etc is... I like to see how people put their outfit together and really couldn't care how expensive their clothes are,it kind of defeats the object no? So I am going to post (badly taken) pictures of some things I wear that make me happy. Nothing more nothing less

My Hippy take on smart/casual for the office.

A shimmery vintage number
 And Brogue.

Let's Revamp

I am in need of a drastic revamp...I must be having a mid life crisis at the age of twenty BUT thanks to the help of my personal trainer I now have some focus. I have new candy floss coloured pink hair (which I love) and I am hoping to achieve a new body ; )

My wardrobe is soon to be revamped and I will post exactly what/when and how I do this x

So the Spring cleaning began tonight with me filling a black sack of random things that are no good to myself or a charity shop at that...

Red tight that I wore twice; once for the above shoot and the second time under a playsuit when a hole appeared in them. P.s Photography by Simon Morris, text by me.
Stripey tights worn once to dress as a pirate for Halloween.
Black vests that go thread bear are NEVER good...Little did I know you could see my side boob ; )

As money gets tighter being thrifty seems to make sense, a good friend of mine is currently repairing clothes for myself and a couple of others in the office. A great little money maker for her and a much needed service for us less domestic folk.

Im a bit excited now that spring is here! Sunshine is sooo good for the soul : ) x

Dirti Gerties

Dirti Gerties to the untrained eye is a modestly sized Boutique just off Maidstone High Street. Delve a bit deeper however and you will soon realise it is infact a family run dress agency. To those of you that didn't know(I must admit until my visit I didn't). A dress agency is somewhere that you can take clothes you no longer wear. You pay a small deposit to display your items and should they be sold you take a cut of the profits from the sale. This is a great way to recycle perfectly good items that simply go unworn for whatever reasons.

Downstairs is full of one off retro pieces such as print dresses( great for putting an individual slant on next season's high street trends). Whilst upstairs is bursting with shoes, handbags and vintage faux furs. Dirty Gerties are a family run business with a beauty parlour located above. Its gentle and welcoming yet funny and girlie and gives you the sense you could happily stop by for a cuppa and a gossip.

Dirti Gerties Fashion Boutique can be found on:
38 Union Street

Fashion Forward For 2011

So we say it every year "this year will be the year" but for some of us it really has started on a high! I have already collaborated with a great creative team on my first styling job, I have shoot lined up and reviews to write and we’re only 11 days in! For the last few months of last year I took a break from modelling and fashion in general but this year I hope to enlighten and be enlightened on my fashion journey. From high street bargains to reviews of little gem type places to shop away from the BIG stores and high street names...

Stay poised,
Sarah-Louise x
